On 17th April, Barang Regional Alliance took another significant step toward its goal of empowering the local Central Coast Aboriginal Community with the formal lodgement of its ‘Statement of Claim (SoC) toward a NSW Local Decision Making Regional Accord Agreement and Commonwealth Empowered Communities Regional Development Agreement’. This SoC steps out our regional reform agenda to “change the way government does business” by giving the community a say in how services are funded and designed so they invest in building the capability, aspiration and opportunity of Aboriginal people and organisations to achieve a long-term ‘pathway to empowerment’.
